Adventurer, you are invited…

To embark on a noble (and slightly silly) journey of self-discovery, courage, and leadership type things.

Six brave souls will gather in Wellington for a full-day immersive experience where the stakes are imaginary but the growth is real.

We’ll explore your strengths, talk through real leadership challenges, and spot where growth is needed. Then you’ll create a character (yes, like a wizard or warrior) based on what you’ve learned — and step into A Quest Within, our custom role-playing game designed to help you grow your leadership skills in a fun, low-stakes way.

Also, there will be lunch.

🗓 Date: Thursday 8th May 2025
📍 Location: The Library, Space Place, Wellington
🕘 Time: 9am – 5pm
👀 Who: 6 brave adventurers
💰 Cost: $450 (pilot price in exchange for your feedback, a testimonial, and letting us snap a few photos of your heroic journey). Lunch is included.

What’s actually going to happen

This isn’t your average leadership seminar. No jargon. No waffle. Just playful, practical growth.

You’ll:

🌿 Explore your leadership style in nature
🪞 Reflect on real challenges you’re facing
🎭 Create a character — your leadership avatar
🎲 Step into A Quest Within, a guided role-playing game
🔍 Debrief and turn story into real-world insight
🤝 Connect with other curious, courageous leaders

No role-playing experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to play.

Why might you go on this quest?

  • You’re a founder or leader scaling your business and wondering, “Am I doing this right?”

  • You’d rather experiment, play, and reflect than sit through another leadership lecture

  • You’re willing to be a little silly in the name of serious growth

  • You’ve tried other leadership development approaches and they haven’t worked for you (they’re a bit too traditional and ineffective)

Not for you if you believe all learning should be painfully serious or if you’re not willing to look inside yourself, at least a little bit.

what you’ll take home

  • A clearer sense of your leadership style (and where you might need some extra growth)

  • New tools for handling those tricky human moments with your team

  • Increased confidence in your own voice, values, and decisions

  • A few new allies who know what it’s like to lead a growing team

  • The delightful shock of learning something deep while having actual fun

What leaders are saying

  • “This is the most unique, wild, engaging and fun workshop I have ever been to. The experience and the learning will stay with me for a long time.”

Cordula Plassmann | Coach & Facilitator

  • "I think this is an awesome way to bring leadership teams together. Role playing removes the natural inhibitions from the participants and lets you learn new aspects and perspectives, ultimately bringing you a better understanding of the team you work with as well as yourself. "

    Ed Letifov | TechTime

  • “The game creates a safe and engaging environment to explore leadership strengths and areas for growth. The debrief sessions were especially powerful, offering insights that conventional leadership courses often overlook.”

    Annelies Griemink | Thankyou Payroll

  • "Most people have done at least some of the stock-standard professional development that's out there, so why not try something new? The worst case is *just* having a whole lot of fun, and the best case is that fun sparking deep insights and reflections that help you to be a better leader. It's a win win, I reckon."

    Nicole Skews-Poole | Anchordown

  • “I was super sceptical, having never done anything like this before and it being VERY out of my comfort zone! BUT by the end of session one, I had one of those "ah ha" moments, and I then understood what it was all about! I learned so much about myself that I never knew or realised before.”

    Beckie Coe | Thankyou Payroll

  • "A Quest Within" was incredibly fun and engaging. I gained valuable insights into myself and the leadership skills I want to develop. It also inspired me to take action!

    Wenjing Xie | Snapper

  • "It was very enjoyable to partake in a Quest Within and immensely beneficial to learn and reflect on applying leadership skills in an adventure with my co-workers."

    Participant | Snapper

  • "This is the kind of workshop to attend whether or not you have been to other leadership trainings. It will bring up new ideas and experiences that you wouldn't have been able to tap into before. I thoroughly enjoyed this new take on a leadership workshop that I know I will be referencing to others for months and years to come."

    Victoria Young | Zealandia

  • "I haven't been able to stop thinking about my day on the Leadership Side Quest, I discovered unexpected things about myself, learnt a lot from my fellow adventurers, and it has sparked an interest in and joy for incorporating gameplay into my leadership, but also my day to day life - including parenting!"

Kelly Hudson | Five and Dime

  • "The journey showed me parts of myself that I'd like to focus on, as well as some comparitive strengths through the reflection process. I highly recommend!"

    Angela Wei | Wētā FX

  • "Seeing how your team members react in a situation free of judgement teaches you a lot about them. It's worth doing for any team."

    Patrick Peters | TechTime

  • "It's refreshed my love of giving specific feedback. Receiving feedback on my gameplay was really helpful for reflection."

    Julie Reddish | Catapult NZ

  • "It's a practical, on the court, safe way to enhance leadership skills"

for the nerds

You might be thinking: “This all sounds fun, but is it actually effective?”

Excellent question, wise wanderer. As it turns out, play isn’t just fun - it’s one of the most powerful tools we have for real leadership growth.
